Valentine Treat Boxes

Hi everybody! Kim here from My Kraft Kloset sharing a couple of sweet treat boxes you can make in a flash with just a few craft supplies and these wonderful products from Craft Fantastic.  If you make or buy sweets for the kids to take to school, give your family a little surprise, or maybe share treats with friends and co-workers, you are sure to please with these sweet treats for Valentine's Day.

I started with an empty paper towel holder cut in half to give me two pieces for my treat boxes. Because I like to upcycle, but you could use cardstock with this free printable template to cut out your own box that measures about 6 x 4."  Or if you have a pillow box die cut or SVG that will do too.

I used 6 x 6" polka dot patterned paper, cut down to 6 x 4", wrapped around and adhered to the paper towel holder with sticky dots. Then used the remaining 2 x 6" strip to wrap around the centers of the holders and adhered with sticky dots too.  Add ribbon (as shown in pic 1 above).

To make Craft Fantastic glass pieces for projects, follow these 3 basic steps:

1.  Choose from hundreds of images. Add several drops of Fantastic Glaze & Glue on the back of an appropriate sized Glass you've chosen. Press on image until set. Wipe off any excess glue with a Q-tip.

2.  Cut around the glass and cut out the image.

3.  Adhere glass images and patterned paper with Fantastic Super Sticky Dots.

And you can find more details on how I made these glass pieces sparkle here.

I felt like the glass pieces still needed something...so I did what I do...I layer!!!  And I adhered them to larger images with sticky dots to make them pop.  And pop they did.  Don't you think?  Cut out the images.  Adhere the whole piece to the treat box with sticky dots. Push in and pinch the ends to close. And I added a Valentines sticker to the back.

Add some candy and you're ready to surprise your loves with these sweet treat boxes for Valentine's Day or any special day throughout the year!

Thanks for stopping by!  XOXO

Gifts with Heart from Craft Fantastic

Hi everybody! Kim here sharing my first post for the Craft Fantastic All Stars Design Team!  I am overjoyed to be here creating with these truly fantastic products. I’m mostly a card maker, but when I tried these products a few years ago at a craft show, I was hooked and you will be too! They are fun, easy, and oh so pretty.

For my first project I wanted to show you the versatility of these amazing products and how you can incorporate them into many facets of your crafty life. As a special gift, I designed this beautiful handmade necklace, a charming card, and a matching gift bag tag.

The Necklace:
I started with a super unique necklace that could be for a special Birthday, Anniversary, Wedding, Valentines gifts, or any special occasion. To help you better understand the lingo, Craft Fantastic calls their pendant pieces trays, and you use these as your vehicles to creativity.

1. I chose this bright red heart image with a funky black and white button type background.

2. Next I chose a silver medium fancy heart tray and medium glass heart. The silver pieces are lead and nickel free and oh so gorgeous, I really hated to alter them, but I wanted to do something that hadn’t been done or shown on the blog before.  So, I colored the silver heart trays with a red Copic alcohol marker. I know—gasp! (lol) But it turned out stunning, with or without the heart image too, don’t you think?

3. Add several drops of Craft Fantastic Glaze & Glue onto the flat part of the glass heart and place over the image. Too much glue can be cleaned up, but too little won't seal properly to the image. Press a finger over the glass to help distribute the glue, hold in place for about a minute, and then wait 2-3 minutes for it to set. Give the glass a nudge, if it doesn’t move its set.

4. Use a Q-tip to remove any excess glue around the edges of the glass. Trim around the edges of the glass and cut out your image.

5. Place a Fantastic Jewelers Dot in the center of the heart tray, remove the red backing, and place glass heart image into the tray and press down.  It’s a jeweler’s quality dot and super duper strong. For larger trays you’ll want to use more than one dot. For more details, check out the Craft Fantastic tutorial HERE.

6. Add a pinch bail and a small jump ring to the heart tray pendant. Then add a heart charm to the small jump ring, clamp with pliers, and string a necklace chain through the pendant.

The colored pendent will dry very quickly, but go over it a few times to get desired coverage, and if it is still tacky to the touch, you may want to spray it with a clear epoxy sealer.

The Card:
As an avid card maker I believe every gift should have a handmade card to go with it too! So, I added these gorgeous heart charms and a red ribbon to give it some extra love and sparkle too! See step by step card tutorial at: My Kraft Kloset

For the charms, repeat Steps 1-5 as above to create this heart pendant

6. Add two pinch bails to the heart pendant and the silver heart charm. Then string a glittery red ribbon through the pendant and charm, and tie in a bow.

7. Place a Fantastic Jewelers Dot on the back of the ribbon, the heart tray pendant, and the silver heart charm. Remove the red backing, place them on the card, and press down. The dots are super strong and sticky and will hold these in place really well. If any parts of the dots are visible and causing other things to stick to your card, just add a touch of talc powder to those edges to un-stick it.

Craft Fantastic Supplies: Fantastic Glaze & Glue, 2 pairs-Multi purpose Jewelry Pliers, Fantastic Jewelers Dots, Fantastic Art Images Sheet-Valentines, Medium Fancy Heart Tray, Medium Glass Hearts, Cute Heart Charm, 2-Silver Pinch Bails, Q-tips, Red Cadmium Copic Marker, Cardstock, Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Ink/Stamps, Stickers, and Creative Impressions Red Glitter Ribbon.

 The Gift Bag Tag:
No present is complete without a gift bag and a matching tag. So, I added a set of heart charms and a sparkly red ribbon here too!

For the charms, repeat Steps 1-6 as above to create this heart pendant

7. Then add a large silver jump ring through the red glittery ribbon and string it through the braided tag ribbon that came with the bag, and clamp with pliers. Add tissue paper. Voila!

Craft Fantastic Supplies: Fantastic Glaze & Glue, 2 pairs-Multi purpose Jewelry Pliers, Fantastic Jewelers Dots, Fantastic Art Images Sheet-Valentines, Medium Fancy Heart Tray, Medium Glass Hearts, Cute Heart Charm, 2-Silver Pinch Bails, Large Jump Rings, Q-tips, Red Cadmium Copic Marker, Creative Impressions Red Glitter Ribbon, a Gift bag and tissue paper.

And there you have a very unique and special gift made from the heart with a few products, a whole lot of imagination, and at very little cost. And maybe include a little note explaining to your recipient that they could remove the pendants from the card and the gift bag to wear for a total of three pendant gifts. WOW! I’d love that, wouldn’t you?

I hope I’ve inspired you to think outside the box. Lets see what you can create with these fantastic jewelry products and your paper crafting supplies. Because the possibilities are truly endless!

Faux Toggle Heart Pendant

There's just enough time to squeeze in one more heart themed project before Valentine's Day! I love the look of a toggle pendant, so I reached for a few handy supplies and created a "faux" version. This pendant does not actually have a toggle. It's designed to slip over your head, but I pulled the end of the chain through the large jump ring and attached a small heart charm tray to give it the same stylish design of a traditional toggle.

Let's get started...

What You'll Need

Assorted Craft Fantastic Art Images - these were found on the Valentine's sheet.

Scissors

Cotton Swabs

I've gathered my tools and supplies and I'm ready to start!

I begin by adhering my selected images to my small and medium glass hearts and trimming them out.

I place a Fantastic Jeweler's Dot into each tray, remove the backing to expose the adhesive and firmly press my glass piece into each tray.

Using the pliers, I attach the large jump ring to the bail on the medium heart pendant.

Next, I remove the lobster clasp and 2 small jump rings from the 30" rolo chain.

I'll keep this lobster clasp to use on a future project.

Using one of my new small jump rings, I attach the large jump ring with the pendant to one end of the chain.

I pull the other end of the chain through the large jump ring and using another small jump ring I attach the small heart charm tray.

Voila! Isn't that a fun look!

It doesn't get much easier than that, but the finished look is sophisticated and unique. A perfect last minute Valentine's Day project!

Valentine's Day Purse Fob!

Welcome to our first project of the New Year! Today we're gearing up for Valentine's Day with a couple of special projects for the lovely Gal Pals in our lives that make our hearts sing. You know who they are...our moms, sisters, cousins, besties; all the beautiful women that make our lives full. They've reared us, shaped us, lent us a shoulder when we needed to cry, told us a joke when we needed to laugh, and we LOVE them for it! So why not tell them with a handmade gift.

    Let's get started...

What You'll Need

Craft Fantastic Assorted Fancy Trays - I used the Heart Key, Medium Fancy Heart, and Small Heart Charm Trays.

Craft Fantastic Assorted Glass Cabochons - Small Glass Rounds, Medium Glass Hearts, Small Glass Hearts (these are available as a kit with the Small Heart Charm Trays).

Assorted Craft Fantastic Charms - Heart, Flower Heart, Bird Connector Charms.

Craft Fantastic Multi Purpose Pliers - 2 pairs make the addition of jump rings quick and easy.

Scissors

Cotton Swabs

I've rounded up my supplies, now I'm ready to make something fabulous for my gal pals! I started by selecting images and adding them to my glass cabochons. I chose to add their initials to make them even more personal. In this case, these are for my lovely coworkers Jenny and Shay! If you need a refresher on how to add the images to the glass, you can find it HERE

After I made my glass pieces and affixed them into the corresponding trays with jeweler's dots, I laid out my pieces to get an idea of how I wanted to put this fob together.

I used a 24" rolo chain cut into various lengths to attach my trays. Nothing fancy needed to cut the chain, just a pair of dollar store scissors.

I attached the chain to the charms and trays using small jump rings, then attached each of these strands to large jump rings. Then I added the large jump rings to the ring of the key clip.

There! All put together and ready to give!

I made Jenny's in the antique brass finish.

I don't know which one I like better!

Here's Jenny's in action! Attach it to the zipper or to the ring on the strap.

Here's Shay's! The silver finish looks great against that blue!

Did you enjoy today's project as much as I did? I cannot tell you how good it feels to make something special for people you care about :) If you decide to make this project or something else for Valentine's Day, please share it with us on our Craft Fantastic Facebook Page  or email it to me at DearCrafty@CraftFantastic.com.
